The Free Zones Scheme have been greatly enhanced by Government's reform efforts to diversify and expand the economy away from oil to non-oil, through the formulation of various policies including the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) and Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).
Pursuant to the intensified efforts of the Federal Government to enhance the Free Zones scheme, the activities of the Authority have been strengthened and this has led to the establishment of 40 Free Zones spread across the country with over 400 registered Free Zones Enterprises. Operating in the various sectors ranging from manufacturing to services and commercial activities.
There has been an increased interest in terms of trade and investment opportunities in the Free Zones. This has come with its peculiar challenges ranging from greater competition for government scarce resources to new rules governing world trade, amongst others.
Against this backdrop, NEPZA is organizing an all-encompassing Nigeria Free Zones International Summit and Expo designed to bring together all stakeholders within the Free Zones community and beyond under one roof to discuss cross cutting issues affecting operational efficiency and providing solutions in order to remain dominant in the global market place and stay ahead. The summit will also provide networking opportunities with key international players and experts who have an impact on trade and investments.Read More
